Where is the Sunshine

It has been days upon days since we have seen sunshine. I am sooo sick of the gloom and doom weather. It does however bring out the creativity being stuck inside. I have been taking random pictures of things I love in my house. Hope you enjoy.

Pumpkins and Power Tools

Yesterday was a wonderfully cool fall day. We went to a local historic farm known as Nash Farms. They had pony rides, a petting zoo, hayrides, and other farm friendly activities. Of course the first thing we did is ride a pony. Bella is obsessed with ponies and I am pretty sure I should invest in some rubber boots for the both of us because the only way she will be involved in riding regularly is for us to be mucking someones stalls for ride time. It was short loved due to the cold air (54 degrees) and the soggy grounds due to the week of rain we have had.
After defrosting and a long nap we headed to Nana and Papas house for Steak and Pumpkin carving. I never thought to use power tools on a pumpkin before but I must admit that it worked very nicely. Bella even helped get the guts out... well kinda. We have not named our pumpkin yet but Bella does not understand why we don't leave the candle going all DAY.
After we came home we made homemade smores... In my wonderful oven. Hey you gotta make due with what you have right? Needless to say it was a wonderful October day.

Princess Party

Today was our new found friend, Brooklyn's birthday party. This is the little girl we met a couple of weeks back on our walk. She lives just a block away. The them was a princess party with special appearance from Aerial the Little Mermaid. Wow was it a party. The wonderfully creative parents had the theme down. The menu consisted of, blue punch (ocean water), the ice had blue gummie sharks frozen inside, there were cheese cubes with Aerial tooth picks, marshmallow's, gummie fish, gold fish, hot dogs, pizza and cake.
The biggest ordeal was Aerial showing up. The REAL Aerial. She was great. She sang beautifully, read a story, applied makeup on all the girls, played limbo and taught the girls how to dance. It was quite a show.
The moms and two dads were all wonderful. It can always be a little intimidating with a room full of women that you don't know. I am very grateful for a new found friends. It was an over the top birthday party that every parent will be trying to beat when there child's birthday comes around. Oops maybe that's just me. Hope you enjoy the pics it was fun.

Day on Main Street

Aww... Sweet Bliss. A nice fall morning/afternoon on Main Street. Bella stayed the night with her old nanny Ashley and I have had the best time relaxing. I went to Main Street and picked up a couple birthday gifts and actually did better than I thought I would. I went to Let's Pretend Tea Parties and Boutique which is an over priced children's boutique but they do have the cutest stuff ever. I wasn't really sure what I could afford in there but I made out!! This little boutique has a back section dedicated to little princesses so they can indulge in cupcakes, tea and dress up in gowns and makeup. Sooooo I got our new found neighborhood friend a gift card for a cupcake and tea. It was a shockingly 8.95!! I know!!! That's cheaper than going to Target and getting a gift that she probably doesn't even want.
I also picked up a couple Tyler candles, the best candles ever. Birthday cake scent for my friend Tories birthday and elevate for me.
Main Street also offers some edible goodies from local farmers. Since I am having some girlfriends over tonight I grabbed some green beans and a watermelon.
After all that shopping I sat on a bench and watched time go bye. What a wonderful wonderful morning. Now I am having Bella with drawls and have 30 more minutes until I leave to go get her.

Spooky on a Budget

Last night Bella wanted to start decorating for Halloween so I went to drag out all of our fun spooky things and to my surprise we only had a table cloth, a stuffed bear, and a mummy. Yep that's it. Needless to say it didn't go too far.
My first reaction was, " I'll just go to the dollar store and spend 30.00 on all the things we need." Crap!!! Dave Ramsey!!! So now what? Time to get creative. My friend MeLisa shared with me last night of a Christmas she had where all she had was money for the tree. She made all of her ornaments from construction paper and dye cut shapes. I flipped the script and did the same for Halloween. Funny how creative we become when we have no money. I am not done yet but this is what I have done so far.

Cold Front means Fall Shoes!!!

Last weekend was the last weekend of summer. Tonight we had a rain storm and now it's in the low low 70'1!!! You know in Texas if it's in the low 70's high 60's you can officially switch to fall fashion.
There are so many new trends for fall boots and I am dying for them. The ones that I am most in love with is the ankle boot and the peep toe boot, To die! Did I mention I am in the process of doing Dave Ramsey???? I don't think trendy fall boots are in the game plan but I did indulge in looking at the pictures. It's official I need a boot fund!

Bella's Bathroom

New Friends

Tonight I saw a glimpse of God right outside my front door. I started praying today asking God to show me the direction I should take in my decision of moving. I sometimes feel like this is just way too much house for me and I would love to redo a small house and have more money in the bank each month. Some opportunities have come up in the last few weeks that have really had me thinking. I have to admit I have not prayed about it until today.
Bella and I finished dinner and decided to take Gerdie for a walk. As soon as we went out the front door we saw a family walking by. A mom, a little girl Bella's size, and a dad holding an infant. Bella kept asking " can I go say hello to that girl mom?" Before I knew it we were walking side by side with the family. The little girl, Brooklyn is almost 4yrs old and lives one block away from us. We walked all the way to their house and while the adults were outside checking out their awesome house(they just moved in 4 months ago) the girls had disappeared into Brooklyn's room. BELLA FINALLY HAS A FRIEND!!!! The parents were so down to earth and friendly. They are having a birthday party in the near future for Brooklyn and we are invited. So so happy, but wait it gets better.
We are walking back home when I see a young girl sitting with a little boy Bella's size. She comments on Gerdie so I asked how old the little boy was. He's 4! His single dad just moved in a couple weeks ago and he has his son every other weekend. His name is Jayden and his babysitter is Allie. Jayden and Bella were also instant pals. They raced up and down the sidewalk and talked to each other like they had known each other for years. So now Bella has two little friends walking distance from her. She is always wanting someone to play with her and Mommy just can't hang. I always say my neighborhood is the best place ever but it continues to get better and better. Thank you God for new friends and the most amazing place I get to call home.

More House
